How are your products shelf-stable without preservatives?
We use a proprietary process that gives our MRE meals and Sports Nutrition products a long shelf life without using anything artificial. It’s one of the “secret sauces” that makes our products unique.
Are your products gluten-free?
Although all of Essential Provisions’ ingredients are meticulously sourced and entirely gluten-free, our products are crafted in a shared facility where gluten-containing items are also produced. While we uphold exceptional standards of care, minimal cross-contamination may be possible.
What is the shelf life of our MREs?
The shelf life of our shelf-stable MREs varies based on storage temperature; however, our studies indicate that it can be up to 5 years under optimal storage conditions.

Our founder, Robin Gentry McGee is a wellness innovator known for creating the first organic, whole-food tube feeding formula with her previous company, Functional Formularies®.
